The Province of Salta is one of the twenty-three provinces of the Argentine Republic and one of the twenty-four national legislative constituencies. Its capital is the homonymous city of Salta. It is located in the northwest of the country, bordering to the north with the province of Jujuy and the countries of Bolivia and Paraguay, to the east with the provinces of Formosa and Chaco, to the south with those of Santiago del Estero, Tucumán and Catamarca, and to the west with the Region of Antofagasta in Chile.
